Several years ago, I received a box of 1/285 and 1/300 vehicles and infantry that included these castings. They're suitable scale for OGRE or Battletech or MAATAC, but I don't think these minis go with any of those games. Do they ring a bell with you?

I wouldn't call myself an authority on it, but that small one really looks a lot like a Battletech vehicle.
IIRC the metal ones are Irregular Miniatures, I have some that I've used for conversions for Ogre

No idea what the minis are but just wanted to stop in and say hi after catching up on your writings. Good for you for putting together an oldschool D&D game. It was AD&D for me. Some day I hope to go back to something like it. And don't worry about space combat, I'm sure it will come around again soon.
